For investigating the influence of dose and split application of zinc on the growth and grain yield of transplanted aman rice, a field experiment was conducted at Professor Purnendu Gain Field Laboratory of Agrotechnology Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna during the aman season of 2022. For the investigation, rice cultivar BRRI dhan75 was chosen and sown with four zinc doses of Do, D1, D2, D3 and three application time of T1, T2 and T3. With three replications, zinc fertilization treatments (D0T1), D0T2, D0T3, D1T1, D1T2, D1T3, D2T1, D2T2, D2T3, D3T1, D3T2, D3T3) were grouped according to the Complete Randomized Design (CRD). Experimental data on different plant growth characters, yield contributing characters, and yield parameters were collected and analyzed statistically. Plant growth characters (plant height and tiller number) were found significant in most of the cases for interaction but were significant in some cases for individual treatment. However, there have significant effects of levels and stages of zinc fertilization on yield contributing characters and yield parameters. It was observed that rice yield significantly improved with zinc fertilization in Zn deficient soil. Split application of zinc fertilizer had no considerable effect on rice development, and increasing yield. At harvest the highest plant height (122.17 cm) was in T3D2 (Two splits application 50% as basal and 50% at 40 DAT with 14.38 kg zinc application), the highest number of tillers hill-1 (17.66) was found from no zinc added treatment (T1D0). Highest (32.27) SPAD value was observed from T2D1 (Two splits application 50% as basal and 50% at 25 DAT with 11.5 kg ha-1 zinc application), highest leaf number was noticed from T3D; (two splits application 50% at last ploughing and 50% at 25 DAT and 17.25kgha1 zinc application) TID (Full dose as basal with 11.5 kg ha-1 zinc application) resulted in the highest grain production (13.57 g hill). The 1000 grain weight was the highest at T1D3 (24.59 g) which was statistically similar to the values of T1D1 (24.28 g) and T1D2 (24.21 g). The highest biological yield of rice was resulted from T1D3 (35.07 g hill-') and highest harvest index was resulted from T3D1 (43.98 %) which was statistically similar to T1D1 (43.87 %). The interaction effect of different dose and time of zinc application had significant effect on yield contributing data (1000 grain weight) and yield (Grain yield). Among the yield and yield contributing characters (panicle length, biological yield and harvest index), data showed significant relationship with the treatment combination. Positive correlation was found between major yield parameters with grain yield.
