This paper is presented to study food security situation in Khulna City Corporation areas. Here we provided an overview of successful community, research and policy initiatives that adopted this new policy paradigm and thus contributed to sustainable food security on the local, regional and sometimes even global level. This study belongs to 120 respondents of Khulna City Corporation areas those were randomly selected from 31 wards. From the empirical field survey to report presentation, the paper uses various statistical tools and method such as descriptive research design for designing the study, uses schedule method for collecting the data and uses SPSS 12, Sigmaplot 12 and MS Excel software for analyzing the data. From the study, age, educational status, gender of household head, number of family member, number of children, occupational pattern, monthly income, food status, storage of staple food, frequency of attack disease in a month, rice and soybean oil price, household size, per capita quantity consumed have been found to be the important variables affecting demand among households and therefore, their food security status. The causes behind the variation the price of rice and soybean oil differs to some extent but there exists similarity. People were unsatisfied in market price of rice and soybean oil. In Bangladesh food security could be substantially improved by increased investment and policy reforms. Biotechnology's ability to eliminate malnutrition and hunger through production of GM crops having longer shelf-lives, resistant to pests and diseases, refined textures and flavours, higher yields per units of land and time, tolerant to adverse weather and soil conditions, and employment opportunity cannot be over-emphasized. This technology can be applied to improve agriculture in order to improve food production for the population in an environmentally sustainable manner. However, there is need for government and public-private collaborations to invest in agricultural biotechnology-based companies, researches, or initiatives, in order to make the GM crops revolution beneficial to people of Khulna City Corporation areas.
