Compatibility of Trichoderma harzianum with Selected Botanicals and Their Efficacy against Fusarium oxysporumf.sp.lentis

dc.description.abstractTwo experiments were conducted in the Plant Protection Laboratory of Agrotechnology Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna. At first, the compatibility of Trichoderma harzianum with four different botanicals (neem, tulsi, arhar, durba leaf ext•acts) maintains five concentrations (1%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) was evaluated. The effectiveness of Trichoderma harzianum suspension along with these four bio-agents was evaluated against a pathogenic fižngi Fusarium oxysporumf.sp. lentis the causal agent of Fusarium wilt of lentil. The experiment was conducted in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five replications. Trichoderma harzianum revealed compatibility at 1% to 10% concentration of neem and tulsi leaf and all the concentrations of arhar and durba leaf extracts. On the other hand, 20% concentration of both neem and tulsi leaf extracts demonstrated incompatibility with Trichoderma harzianum. To suppress the growth of Neem and tulshi leaf extracts were effective at 20% concentration. Trichoderma suspension was effective against Fusarium oxysporum f sp. lentis at 15% and 20% in comparison to other botanical exü•acts. Moreover, regession equation between different concentrations of all the freatments and mycelial growth inhibition percentage revealed positive functional relationship except in case of durba leaf extract. In addition, colony characteristics of the tested pathogens were varied from control plate at different concentrations. Among all the Trichoderma suspension inhibited the radial mycelial gowth of Fusarium oxysporum j: sp.lentis significantly when they applied in combination with other botanicals. On the contrary, Trichoderma harzianum revealed incompatibility with higher concenfration (15% to 20%) of neem and tulsi leaf extracts. So, Trichoderma may be successfully used in combination with arhar, durba leaf extracts and lower of neem and tulsi leaf extracts to Fusarium oxysporumf.sp. lentis.
